Technology Tools for Teachers HomeThis is a featured page

Internet, especially interactive Web tools/applications (Web 2.0), has been changing and growing very rapidly. This course provides an introduction and guide to preservice and inservice teachers to current and emerging Web 2.0 technologies. It is intended to help PK-12 educators not only use interactive Web resources and tools in their own education but also to integrate them into their work as teachers. The course has objectives as follows:
  1. Understand the trends, and introductory knowledge, skills and facts related to Web 2.0 tools,
  2. Explore Web 2.0 tools that we’ve identified as currently predominant, and which we think might help educators with their research, teaching and organizational needs. Such as: blogs, wikis, social bookmarking, media sharing (photo and movie sharing sites), social networking sites, etc.
  3. Design and develop educational projects via Web 2.0 tools.
It is my hope that those objectives can help you reflect on the technology integration, and help you direct your learning. Furthermore, you are willing to learn how to achieve these objectives since you might make easy connections between what you are learning and what you are going to apply it to in the real world. You will participate actively in your education as a self-learner as well as a collaborative learner. You will engage the instructor and each other in discussion, share you thoughts and insights, and write regularly about what we are studying.
